The Dell Medical School (DMS) at The University of Texas at Austin has a unique opportunity to transform healthcare and academic medicine through technology, innovation, and a new, start-from-scratch design. The leaders are creating a new type of medical school and are rethinking and redesigning the role of advanced technology in educating the future healthcare professionals of the world and in improving health and medicine for all.
A year and a half into this effort, Mini Kahlon, Vice Dean for Strategy & Partnerships at the Dell Medical School, will share progress toward making Austin a hub for the transformation of how we deliver and manage health and healthcare. Health technologies are a key route to disruption, but the necessary systemic overhaul can be prohibitive. Mini will share the strategies the school is using to build a unique ecosystem in Austin to accelerate the development and adoption of disruptive health technologies. Against this backdrop, and with special guests to seed a contrarian conversation, we will challenge ourselves on whether your medical school is being disruptive enough.
