Digital Display Holography: Historical Survey and Recent Developments
The world is currently witnessing an explosion of 3-D digital data content, particularly in entertainment and geospatial applications. So, why is the majority of this content still being viewed on 2-D screens requiring goggles and glasses? This talk will survey the history and fundamentals of digital holography displays, and survey a variety of different approaches that have been explored, with an emphasis on recent technologies and products, successful applications, and future possibilities.
Mark Holzbach is a Graduate of the MIT Media Lab's Spatial Imaging Group under the direction of holography pioneer, the late Dr. Stephen Benton. In 1996, Holzbach co-founded digital holography company, Zebra Imaging. Zebra Imaging is listed in Inc. Magazine's "Inc. 500" list of the fastest-growing companies in the United States for two years in a row.
