Electronic gaming has risen to become a massive global industry, with revenues even larger than film and music! From casual games on smartphones to advanced games requiring the most powerful computing technologies and even massive data centers, gaming has become huge--and continues to drive technology development but also spawn new applications beyond mere entertainment. Join us as industry experts Sheri Graner Ray and Erik Summa discuss the present and future of gaming technologies (AR, VR, AI, and more), and the ways in which they are expanding entertainment and influencing education, training, marketing, design, and even business. AND stay after the presentations and discussion to play any number of online games (no experience necessary) or watch and learn via Twitch streams of many gaming sessions.
We welcome your participation! Please email us with your questions, answers and prognostications in advance.

Admission to the Austin Forum is always free.

The Austin Forum accepts donations of used smart phones, tablets, and computers at all our events. Since the events are no online, please let us know via the ‘chat’ window during the event if you have devices to donate. All devices will have a factory reset and be set up as new by the team at Austin Pathways’ nationally-recognized “Unlocking the Connection” initiative, which will connect every public housing resident with a digital device, digital literacy, and a free or very low-cost internet connection. Your donated devices can change lives and help close Austin’s digital divide, thanks to Austin Pathways.
