Discover the immense potential for economic growth, enhanced safety, and improved quality of life that these intelligent machines promise. Beyond the benefits, we'll also confront the critical technical challenges that still lie ahead and engage in a thoughtful discussion about the profound societal questions surrounding the increasing integration of—and potential dependency on—robots in our daily existence. This event is a must-attend for anyone interested in understanding how robotics will redefine industries, reshape workforces, and fundamentally alter how we live.

Speaker

Peter Stone, Founder, Learning Agents Research Group

Peter Stone is the founder and director of the Learning Agents Research Group (LARG) within the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory in the Department of Computer Science at The University of Texas at Austin. He also serves as the associate department chair and Director of Texas Robotics.

He was a co-founder of Cogitai, Inc. and currently holds the position of Chief Scientist at Sony AI.

Peter’s primary research interest in artificial intelligence is understanding how to best create complete intelligent agents. He views adaptation, interaction, and embodiment as essential capabilities of such agents. Accordingly, his research focuses on machine learning, multiagent systems, and robotics. He is especially drawn to research topics inspired by challenging real-world problems and believes that impactful research should combine precise, novel algorithms with fully implemented and rigorously evaluated applications. His application domains have included robot soccer, autonomous bidding agents, autonomous vehicles, and human-interactive agents.
