POSTPONED ANNOUNCEMENT
After needing to postpone the AI workshop twice, we are excited to have a new date for the Accelerated Introduction to AI/Machine Learning. Please join us on the new date of June 20, at 10:00 a.m. CDT. AI approaches based on machine learning (ML) methodologies are experiencing explosive growth in adoption, usage, and results—enabled by the corresponding increases in digital data generation and availability and in cost-effective computational power including GPUs and accelerators. This workshop will accelerate understanding of the entire ML process by using prepared scripts, data, and codes, and the ‘cooking show’ method of initiating steps but then quickly moving to completed versions of each step. It will provide hands-on experience with a classical machine learning problem and a deep learning problem, emphasizing context and understanding of the process--not just tools and techniques--through these scripts and steps. |
INSTRUCTORS
Jay is the executive director and founder of The Austin Forum on Technology & Society, which he started in 2006 and is now the leading monthly technology outreach and engagement event in Austin--and starting to attract national and even international attendees online. The Austin Forum is one of the pillars of the Austin tech scene, providing connections to information, ideas, collaborations, and community overall. Through Vizias, Jay also founded the Austin Smart City Alliance (July 2015, formerly Austin CityUP Consortium) and currently serves as the executive director, with a vision of creating an integrated smart city fabric throughout Austin—leveraging mobile devices and IoT data collectors, as well as supercomputers and AI for predictive analytics and scenario simulation—in the years ahead to address city issues, empower city planning, and improve city life in general.
