The Austin Forum on Technology & Society team is excited to announce the relaunch of the Austin Forum Update–our blog on topics in the intersection of technology & society that complements our presentations, discussions, and podcasts! With the relaunch of the Austin Forum Update blog coupled with the return of the Austin Forum Upload podcast (now weekly!), we will once again be sharing information in a variety of formats:
The new Austin Forum Update will share content about all kinds of technology+society topics–just like our other programming–and will use multiple post formats. Our contributing authors will write: “techsplanations” to explain the basics of important technologies; interviews that share their own lives, careers, and perspectives on technology+society topics; in-depth analysis and comprehensive opinion articles about specific topics; and series of articles on specific themes. There are some key themes we plan to cover in 2022, including misinformation, AI, cybersecurity, energy, climate, cryptocurrencies, and health tech. However, any and all important topics about how technology is shaping or can/will shape society, in positive ways, and what we can do to accelerate that while also safeguarding against negative impacts, are fair game.
Most importantly, we will share only high-quality content from thoughtful experts, prepared for intelligent and curious readers, that has been reviewed and approved by our team and advisory board. We know you have many options for great content, so we take our objectives and our responsibility to you, our readers, seriously. We hope you both enjoy and find value in the new Austin Forum Update. We look forward to informing you and entertaining you, inciting you to continue reading and learning, and hopefully inspiring your creativity, collaborations, and innovation.
