Event Summary
If there is one constant about Austin, it is the following -- since its founding in 1839, the city has almost always featured rapid growth, change, transition and evolution.
In recent years, much of this growth and evolution has been pushed by the rise and consolidation of the tech industry in Central Texas. Two relatively new books ("Cost of Cool: Austin's Tech Growth and the People Left Behind" and "Lost in Austin: The Evolution of an American City: An Insightful Dive into Austin's Rapid Evolution, Discover the Changing Face of this Iconic City") explore the positive and not-so-positive changes that the tech boom has brought to the city's personality.
Join us on Thursday evening, June 18 as we discuss these two books, as well as talk more broadly about where the city of Austin is now and where it is going in the future.
