Event Summary
**This event will be held in person only.
Cancer research has entered a new era—one where innovative technology is deepening our biological understanding of cancer, enabling more accurate diagnostics, accelerating drug discovery and clinical trials, and supporting personalized therapies.
The Austin Forum on Technology & Society is excited to host Dr. Andrew Mesecar, director of the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research to share how Purdue University’s leadership in technology innovation, drug discovery and development, advancement in computational sciences & AI, and scientific excellence in cancer research is creating life-changing breakthroughs and discoveries. For nearly fifty years, the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research has been recognized as a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated basic science center—a distinction held by only seven U.S. institutions. With Institute members spanning 7 colleges and 21 departments on campus, including many nationally ranked programs, the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research is advancing new technologies and therapeutics into clinical trials including three FDA approved agents over the past 5 years.
Join us for a discussion on how these exciting new technologies are impacting cancer research, diagnostic, and treatments.
